Khadejah Threats and her son Preston came to GRM’s Miller Family Center for Life Change because she wanted to not depend on relationships and learn to pay her own way. This loving mother/son duo used to depend on family and friends to supply their every need. But that dependence came at a cost. Instability and uncertainty were a constant threat in her life. Because of the turmoil of life and constantly working to keep their heads above water; Khadejah did not have much time to consider going to church and more importantly to consider a relationship with Christ. Most people don’t grasp how much time it takes to be in poverty. Khadejah realized that her example was not setting up Preston for success for his future. She knew that him to grow into a healthy adult he needed to be raised in a stable environment where they both could be inspired to live a full life.
Today Khadejah is determined to experience all that God has in store for her. Since coming to GRM Khadejah has been growing in the Lord and also learning how to open up about her life. She is working two jobs as she moves toward her dream of owning a cleaning service and living a farm where Preston can run free and breathe fresh air.
