What's the difference between "meek" and "weak?" While the weak aren't capable of defending themselves, the meek are, but practice control and choose to let God defend them instead.

In this classic picture of Muhammad Ali letting a young boy win, we see a man perfectly capable of winning the match, but he chooses to give someone else the glory instead. Is it a picture of weakness? Or meekness?

When the Holy Spirit causes you to revolt against false teachers, against injustice, and against the forces that encourage sin, what will the world look like? It looks like you inheriting the earth.

In this week's webinar, Living Your Story, we're taking a deeper dive into how to become your best self.

Just because you've always struggled to be on time for anything doesn't mean that you don't have the power to change it. Just because you've always eaten unhealthy doesn't mean you don't have the power to grab an apple instead of your usual snack.

We are so sad to hear about the recent passing of one of our long-time donors and volunteers, Neal Vernon. When her daughter came to drop off items that Ms. Vernon has wanted to be donated to GRM, she had so many delightful stories to tell about her mom. Listening as Stacy smiled and laughed about some of things her mom would say, you couldn’t help but think that she must’ve been one pretty incredible woman, that even though her spirit is in Heaven, she’s left so much joy behind her here on earth.

A true woman-after-Jesus, she would witness to everyone she met. Stacy told us that her go-to icebreaker was, “Where’s your home church?” And even if you were a total stranger, if you didn’t have one, she’d invite you to hers.

Our prayers go out to Stacy and her family during this difficult time. We are so sorry for your tremendous loss.

Chef Perry is cooking up some delicious fried corn in the kitchen today using corn that was donated by the American Legion in Fort Gibson from this weekend’s Corn Festival. Word on the street is that it tastes just like popcorn! Way to put a spin on a GRM favorite, Perry!

As requested, here is the recipe for Chef Perry's Fried Corn!

10 cups shaved corn-on-the-cob (can be substituted for canned)
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 medium onion
2 handfuls cornmeal
1 tbsp paprika
1 tsp garlic
1 red sweet bell pepper and/or 1 green bell pepper (OPTIONAL)
salt and pepper to taste

Heat oil in a large skillet. Mix all ingredients together. CAREFULLY pour mixture into the oil and fry, stirring often, until onions are translucent and cornmeal is browned.

Hope this recipe makes it to your 4th of July cookouts this weekend!
